NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Cornelia A. Clark says attorneys need to do some free work as an obligation to their profession.

She encouraged attendees of a recent conference to increase their pro bono efforts this year.

More than 100 of the state's top attorneys and community leaders attended the conference in Nashville. The high court announced an Access to Justice initiative last June.

A new website will allow Tennesseans to receive free legal advice from volunteer lawyers across the state. The website, which will launch this spring, is a joint project by the Tennessee Bar Association and Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services.
