MLB teams load up on Vandy pitchers
Vanderbilt had six players – five pitchers – chosen during the first two days of the Major League Draft, led by Bryce Cunningham and Carter Colton in the second round.
Cunningham, a righthanded pitcher, went 53rd overall to the New York Yankees, while Colton, a lefthanded pitcher, went to Atlanta as the 62nd overall pick.
Greysen Carter, RHP, also went to the Yankees in the fifth round (No. 152 overall). New York Yankees: Vanderbilt. Andrew Dutkanych IV, RHP, went to St. Louis in the seventh round (No 201)
Oakland chose catcher Davis Diaz with the first pick of the eighth round (No. 226), and Boston took pitcher Devin Futrell in the 10th round (No. 297).
Catcher Alan Espinal went to the Rockies in the 11th round.
