Bass, Berry & Sims shifts leadership posts
Bass, Berry & Sims has appointed five attorneys across its offices in Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis and Washington, D.C. to serve in the following firm leadership roles:
• Michael R. Hess (Memphis) and Shelley R. Thomas (Nashville) have been elected to the firm’s executive committee, succeeding Richard F. Mattern and Lillian M. Blackshear.
• Russell E. Stair (Knoxville) will be the new Knoxville office managing partner, succeeding G. Mark Mamantov, who served in this role for more than three decades.
• Jeffrey I. Davis (Washington, D.C.) now co-chairs the pride affinity group alongside fellow co-chair • David W. Smith. Davis succeeds Lauren M. Gaffney.
• Russell A. Miller (Nashville) will be the new public finance practice chair, succeeding G. Mark Mamantov.
Thomas counsels clients in the development, commercialization, transfer and protection of intellectual property assets. She recently completed the 2023 fellow program with the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. She serves on the board of directors for the Tennessee chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and previously served as vice chair of the American Health Law Association’s Health Information and Technology Practice Group.
Miller’s practice focuses on bond financing for governmental and large nonprofit entities. He has closed approximately $420 million in bond transactions for nonprofit colleges and universities since 2010, almost $1 billion in nonprofit hospital bond transactions and more than 30 direct placement bank transactions for nonprofit and governmental entities in the last three years.
He is a former member of the firm’s pro bono committee, representing Nashville-based social entrepreneurs focused on pursuing solutions to social problems while creating and sustaining social value.
Bradley’s Warren honored by real estate group
Richard F. Warren, a partner in Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP’s Nashville office, has been honored with the Impact Award from the Nashville Chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
Warren, who has been involved with many of Middle Tennessee’s major real estate projects over the past four decades, received the lifetime achievement award for career-long contributions to the real estate industry and community. He was formally recognized at the NAIOP Nashville Chapter’s Annual Awards Gala.
NAIOP elevates the commercial real estate development industry by providing advocacy, education, research and connections to foster business opportunities. Members of NAIOP’s Nashville Chapter include individuals involved in the design, development, planning and market success of office, industrial and mixed-use properties.
A member of Bradley’s real estate practice group, Warren represents a wide range of real estate developers, investors, lenders, landlords and tenants in all types of commercial real estate projects, including office buildings, as well as retail and multifamily developments. He has significant experience working with various governmental officials involved in the entitlement process for new real estate projects.
Music City Center names facilities director
Ernest Jackson has joined Music City Center as director of facilities for the 2.1 million-square-foot convention center.
Jackson, Jackson, studied at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He began his career in facilities management in Anchorage, Alaska, where he served as operations director of SMG of Alaska, Inc. for 23 years. Having joined the MCC team as a set up manager in 2013, before the building’s opening, he is considered a member of the center’s Founders Club. He is also a graduate of the International Association of Venue Managers Venue Management School.
Resource Center selects new board members
The Community Resource Center recently welcomed five new board members to serve three-year terms:

Additionally, Hollis Clinkinbeard, senior account director, Neptune Retail Solutions, has joined as a Youth Leadership Council Board intern.
Esa’s Myers elevated to AIA College of Fellows
ESa principal Tara L. Myers has been elevated to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows.
The fellowship program was developed to elevate architects who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level. Less than 3% of the architecture profession achieve AIA Fellowship status.
Along with her fellows designation that will be added to her American Institute of Architects credential, Myers holds several additional credentials and certifications: National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB); Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC); and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accredited Professional Building Design + Construction (LEED® AP BD+C).
She has served the AIA in local, state and national roles, is a founding board member of the Nashville chapter of Women in Healthcare and an active member of ULI (Urban Land Institute) – Nashville.
Myers holds a degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati and has worked at ESa for more than 30 years.
Kidd lands top 5 in state on Barron’s list
Brock Kidd, a founding partner and managing director for Pinnacle Asset Management and private wealth manager with Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., is among the top five financial advisers in Tennessee according to Barron’s list of the 2024 Top 1200 U. S. Financial Advisors Ranked by State.
It’s the third consecutive year Kidd has appeared on the list, moving up several spots from No. 11 on last year’s Tennessee list. The 2024 list draws from all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia.
Kidd joined Pinnacle Financial Partners in 2000 and became a registered agent for Raymond James in 2002. Kidd Private Wealth Group has more than $1 billion in assets under management.
Affinity Technology adds 2 to project team
Amy Askey and Robert Pierce have joined Affinity Technology Partners as project team members.
Askey is a project coordinator managing project workflows. She previously worked as a project coordinator with ImageQuest. She is a graduate of Murray State and holds a master’s degree from Vanderbilt. Askey is a member of Women in Technology of Tennessee and is a Greater Nashville Technology Council ELITE alumna.
Pierce is a project engineer who oversees and performs project implementations. He is responsible for building and deploying IT infrastructure and security solutions for clients. He is a Cisco and Palo Alto certified engineer with seven years of experience. He is a graduate of Baker College.
Alexander named VP at Monarch
Monarch Professional Services Group, a Core10 division providing implementation and customer success services for leading financial service SaaS platforms, has named Anthony Alexander vice president, operations and delivery. Alexander will manage Monarch’s day-to-day operations to execute its strategic objectives and vision.
Previously, Alexander was director of application services at Core10, a U.S.-based provider of lending, account opening, and banking infrastructure products, as well as software development services where he led the professional services team to drive implementations, develop successful relationships and ensure processes ran smoothly and efficiently.
