O’Connell, Rolli advance to runoff in Nashville mayor’s race
Two-term Metro Council member Freddie O’Connell took 27% of the vote Thursday in a 12-candidate field to grab one of two runoff spots in the Nashville mayoral race. Alice Rolli, the lone conservative contender, received 20% of ballots cast.
Matt Wiltshire (17%) and State Sen. Jeff Yarbro (12%) finished third and fourth, respectively.
Incumbent Vice Mayor Jim Schulman was defeated by Metro Council member Angie Henderson, who pulled 52% of the vote.
Zulfat Suara led all candidates in the Metro Council at-large race, pulling 10.7% of the vote. Taking the other four seats were Delishia Porterfield, Burkley Allen, Olivia Hill and Howard Jones.
