Bass, Berry & Sims adds 17 Nashville associates

Bass, Berry & Sims has hired 17 new associates in Nashville. The firm has now added 55 new attorneys in 2022.

The new hires and the specialties include:

Commercial Real Estate

• Matthew Morrow, earned a law degree from Washington University School of Law and a B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University.

• Bria Smith-Edwards, who earned a law degree from Vanderbilt Law School and a B.A. from Michigan State University. In addition to commercial work at the firm, Smith-Edwards counsels clients on public finance matters, with a particular focus on affordable housing projects.

Corporate & Securities

• Kyle A. Conley, who earned a law degree from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Kentucky. During law school, Conley served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Rebecca Grady Jennings of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.

• Erica S. Gray, who earned a law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.

• Caylyn G. Harvey, who earned a law degree from Vanderbilt, a master’s degree in commerce from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce and B.A. and B.S. degrees from Davidson College (2016).

• Braxton R. Kinney, who earned a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Tennessee.

• David A.G. Kitchin, who earned a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. from Fordham University. Before law school, Kitchin worked in various roles within the finance industry, where he counseled clients on asset selections and individualized investment strategies.

• William Logan McCallie, who earned a law degree from The University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University. During law school, McCallie was a law clerk for the State of Tennessee, Office of the Attorney General, Finance Division.

• Aleah Reno-Demick, who earned a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. During law school, Reno-Demick served as a judicial intern for magistrate judges Debra C. Poplin and H. Bruce Guyton of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee.

Health care

• Abigail Pirie Anderson, who earned a law degree from Belmont University College of Law and a B.S. from the University of Tennessee. Before law school, Anderson worked as a registered nurse for two years at a hospital in Nashville.

• Delaney Durst, who earned a law degree from Belmont University College of Law and a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

• Ben Kelly, who earned a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Tennessee.

• Steffie Rosene, who earned a law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and a B.S. from Auburn University.

Intellectual Property

• Samantha Ross Liskey, who earned a law degree and a Master of Laws in Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law from the University of Miami School of Law and B.B.A. from Belmont University.

• Ethan M. Riley, who earned a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Tennessee.

• Masie Taylor, who earned a law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and a B.S. from Missouri State University.

Litigation

• Angel Lasley, who earned a law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Findlay. Before joining the firm, Lasley served as a law clerk to the Hon. J. Bernice Donald of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit and as a staff attorney to the Hon. J. Candace Crouse of the Ohio First District Court of Appeals.

Barton LLP hires 3 for Nashville office

Attorneys Leslie Goff Sanders, Daniel Crowell and Stephen Stovall have joined Barton LLP’s Nashville office, with Sanders named as managing partner.

The three were most recently with Jackson Lewis. Crowell comes on board as a partner and Stovall as an associate with the firm, which now numbers six attorneys.

Sanders, Crowell and Stovall assist employers in all areas of labor and employment law, with a particular focus on day-to-day counseling, litigation, trade secrets and noncompetition, and executive compensation.

Sanders is a graduate of Georgetown College and the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Stevens is a graduate of Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center and served as a judicial intern for the Hon. John W. deGravelles in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.

Crowell is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Law School.

Bradley welcomes 8 Nashville associates

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP has hired 32 attorneys across six offices (Birmingham, Houston, Dallas, Jackson, Tampa), including six in Nashville.

New Nashville hires are:

• Adriante Carter: Healthcare Practice Group. Carter earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she served as research assistant for multiple professors and as the executive acquisitions editor for the University of Florida Journal of Law & Public Policy. She earned a B.A. in political science and philosophy from Delaware State University.

• Halle Diaz: Healthcare Practice Group. Diaz earned her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she was articles editor for the Alabama Law Review and a member of the first-place national health care transactional moot court team. She earned her B.A. in legal studies from the University of West Florida.

• Corinne Fombelle: Intellectual Property Practice Group. She earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was co-president of the Entertainment, Media and Arts Law Students Association. She has a degree in saxophone performance from Vanderbilt University.

• Katherine E. Griffin: Labor & Employment Practice Group. Griffin earned her J.D. from the Washington University School of Law, where she was commentaries editor for the Washington Law Review and president of the International Law Society. She has a B.S. in political science and Spanish from Florida State University.

• McCall Current Matlock: Real Estate Practice Group. Matlock earned her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was an articles editor for the Tennessee Law Review. She clerked at the United States Attorneys Office, the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office in the Bankruptcy Division and at DeRoyal Industries.

• Sara L. Norton: Real Estate Practice Group. She earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she was the development editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. She has a B.A. in political science from the University of Mississippi.

• Timothy A. Rodriguez: Litigation Practice Group. Before joining Bradley, Rodriguez clerked for the Hon. John B. Nalbandian of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Before his clerkship, Tim was a counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee. He holds a J.D. from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, where he was chief justice and a board member of the Moot Court Board. He also has a B.A. in journalism and political science from the University of Missouri.

• Grayson Wells: Litigation Practice Group. Before joining Bradley, Grayson clerked for the Hon. Iain D. Johnston, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2020, where he was executive articles editor for the Indiana Law Journal. Grayson also has a master’s in cybersecurity risk management from Indiana University and a degree in computer science from Park University. Before attending law school, Grayson worked in network engineering for almost 13 years.
