NASHVILLE (AP) — President Donald Trump plans to appoint Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee to the Council of Governors, the White House said.

The bipartisan Council of Governors provides input on issues concerning the National Guard, homeland defense and defense support to civil authorities. It includes 10 governors appointed by the president. It has no more than five members from the same party.

The White House said Lee will be appointed for a two-year term, news outlets reported.
