Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP has added Charles E. Elder to the firm’s Nashville office as a partner in the Litigation Practice Group.

Elder has for more than two decades worked on a wide variety of complex business disputes, with an emphasis on antitrust and securities litigation. He has represented companies and individuals in numerous high-profile matters, including class actions, government investigations and stockholder derivative claims. He is a frequent speaker on antitrust and securities litigation topics and has served as a neutral mediator in complex business litigation.

Before joining Bradley. Elder was an attorney at Irell & Manella LLP in Los Angeles. After joining Bradley and relocating to Nashville, he has continued to service his California clients until his admission to the Tennessee bar.

Elder earned his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School and a degree in economics from Stanford University.

The Litigation Practice Group is Bradley’s largest practice and includes almost half of the firm’s nearly 550 attorneys who represent clients in litigation and arbitration in every U.S. state and federal district court across the country, as well as internationally.

Big Brothers Big Sisters adds new board members

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee has added nine new members to its board of directors. They are:

• Lisa Berg, senior audit manager, LBMC

• Sheena Jones-Coofer, Metro Nashville Public Schools psychologist

• Brandon Corbin, chief information officer, Tennessee Department of Health

• James Hallock, vice president of development and strategy, CoreTrust (HCA)

• Chris Husky, partner, HB Real Estate

• Tom Lampe, vice president, Messer Construction

• Chris Miree, vice president, consumer banking market leader, Bank of America

• Scott Romine, President, retirement solutions, Jackson National Life Distributors

• Sgt. Edward Rucker, West Precinct, Metro Police Department

Each are serving one-year terms, through the end of June 2023.

Vaughn takes top role at TVMA

Heather Vaughn has assumed the executive director role at the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association.

Vaughn was previously assistant executive director of the organization, which has more than 1,200 veterinary medical professional members across the state. She succeeds Deloris Green Gaines, who retired.

Vaughn is a 2002 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in mass communications.

As a part of the transition, TVMA’s physical office location has moved to Fayetteville.
