Graham to boost Blackburn Senate bid Sunday in Tennessee

NASHVILLE (AP) — Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham is bringing his midterm campaign trail tour to Tennessee, where he will rally support for GOP Rep. Marsha Blackburn's Senate bid.

Blackburn's campaign says the rally will be Sunday afternoon at Chaffin's Barn in Nashville.

Graham vehemently defended Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his Senate Judiciary committee confirmation hearings last month.

Blackburn said the senator from South Carolina called out Democrats' 11th-hour "smear campaign" during Kavanaugh's hearings.

Blackburn has a tough contest against Democratic ex-Gov. Phil Bredesen, who has said he would have supported Kavanaugh and criticized both parties for the confirmation process.

The Republican National Committee has said Graham is also stopping in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio and South Carolina. Graham isn't up for re-election until 2020.
