OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Tennessee Tech has advanced to the NCAA super regional round by beating Mississippi twice on Monday.

The Golden Eagles (52-10) won the Oxford Regional by stunning the nation's No. 4 national seed 3-2 on its home field, just hours after beating them 15-5 in the afternoon to force the winner-take-all game.

Ole Miss (48-17) pushed ahead 2-0 in the top of the sixth, but Tennessee Tech responded with a two-run homer by Trevor Putzig — his 17th of the season — in the bottom of the inning to tie the game.

Tennessee Tech went ahead 3-2 in the seventh on a sacrifice fly and Nick Osborne pitched three innings of shutdown relief to seal it.

In the first game, Chase Chambers hit a three-run homer and a double to help the Golden Eagles win easily. Tennessee Tech jumped out to a 10-0 lead after six innings.

Ethan Roberts made his first start of the season for the Golden Eagles and threw seven scoreless innings before giving up four runs in the eighth. Tennessee Tech's offense had 16 hits, including three doubles and Chambers' 17th homer of the season.

Ole Miss starter James McArthur lasted just 2 2/3 innings, giving up four earned runs. Reliever Will Stokes was hit hard as well, giving up six earned runs over 2 1/3 innings.
