Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has named Rachel Ross Rosenblatt a shareholder in its Nashville office. Rosenblatt is one of 28 attorneys elected to shareholder status across Littler’s U.S. offices, effective January 1, 2018.

Rosenblatt advises and represents employers in the full spectrum of employment matters, including lawsuits in federal and state courts, administrative proceedings before federal and state agencies, arbitrations, and mediations. She represents clients in a wide range of industries, including retail, hospitality, restaurant, healthcare, financial, and manufacturing, with a focus on claims related to discrimination and harassment, wage and hour disputes, and whistleblowing and retaliation.

She is a member of the Nashville Bar Foundation Leadership Forum’s steering committee after participating in its inaugural class and is also a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law. She is a regular speaker on employment law topics, including accommodating transgender employees in the workplace, harassment, and social media.

Rosenblatt is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and earned her J.D. from University of Tennessee College of Law.

Former Harwell aide moves to Butler Snow

Leslie K. Hafner has joined Butler Snow as a senior government relations advisor in its Nashville office. Hafner will be a member of Butler Snow’s Regulatory and Government Relations Practice Group.

Hafner was most recently the senior policy advisor for Tennessee House Speaker Beth Harwell, which included advising the house speaker and leadership on emerging legislative conversations and assisting with the passage of the speaker’s legislative priorities.

Prior to that, Hafner was senior advisor and chief lobbyist for Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam. Her experience in the governor’s office included cultivating and maintaining relationships with members of the Tennessee General Assembly and advising the governor on a number of issues.

Downtown Partnership elects Wicker to board

The Nashville Downtown Partnership recently elected Stites & Harbison, PLLC, attorney David Wicker to its board of directors. He will serve a three-year term beginning in January 2018.

The Nashville Downtown Partnership is a private-sector nonprofit corporation established in 1994 with the purpose of promoting downtown living. Over the years, the Partnership has become a downtown leadership organization that focuses on business recruitment and retention, residential and retail development, public space management, access and transportation, communications and marketing.

Wicker is a member based in Stites & Harbison’s Nashville office. His practice includes all aspects pertaining to the development, acquisition, sale and financing of commercial real estate.

CapStar adds Martin to Healthcare Advisory Board

Tim Martin of Healthcare Investments has joined CapStar’s Healthcare Advisory Board.

Martin also is lead independent director for Southern Veterinary Partners, a Shore Capital Portfolio Company based in Birmingham. Previously, he was founder and CEO of Ambulatory Services of America’s family of companies, which included ASA, Radiation Oncology Services of America and Innovative Dialysis Systems. He has also served as EVP and chief operating officer of publicly traded Renal Care Group, which sold to Fresenius in 2006. He remains a principal of National Renal Care Holdings.

VU’s Young named CMO of American Red Cross

Vanderbilt’s Pampee Young, M.D., Ph.D., has been named chief medical officer of the American Red Cross.

Young, who joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2003, will oversee American Red Cross Biomedical Services, the nation’s largest supplier of blood and blood products.

In addition to running a research lab at Vanderbilt, Young currently serves as director of Transfusion Medicine, the VUMC stem cell lab and the blood bank at for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System.

Young and her family will continue to live in Nashville, where she will continue to mentor VUMC researchers as an adjunct professor.

She said she looks forward to the new challenges that come with ensuring that the nation’s blood supply is safe from emerging pathogens and overseeing the logistics to make sure hospitals and patients have blood supplies.

Messer Construction hires Kelly as safety engineer

Roman Kelly has joined Messer Construction Co. as safety engineer in the company’s Nashville region.

Before joining Messer Nashville, Kelly served as a safety director for RHINO Construction Group in Milan, Tennessee, for more than four years. As a director, Kelly managed several jobsites and safety coordinators. He also oversaw the processes of accident investigations, OSHA logs and workers’ compensation, and conducted safety trainings and monitored on-site safety.

Kelly earned a degree in occupational safety and health from Murray State University in 2013.

DVL Seigenthaler names Williamson, Stephens VPs

Nashville-based DVL Seigenthaler, a Finn Partners Company, added to its executive staff with the promotions of Molly Williamson and Laura Stephens as vice presidents. Prior to their advancements, Williamson and Stephens served as directors of client services.

Williamson leads the agency’s Jack Daniel and Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl accounts. In addition, Williamson is a board member of the Nashville Conflict Resolution Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication from The Ohio State University.

Stephens represents clients in the consumer product, health care, technology, education, non-profit and finance sectors. Prior to joining the agency, Stephens served as the public relations specialist at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, for more than seven years. She earned bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in communication from Lynn University.

TMA adds director of insurance affairs

Karen Baird, CPC, CPMA has joined the Tennessee Medical Association as director of insurance affairs.

Baird will serve as TMA’s in-house expert on federal and state health insurance policies and reform. She will be responsible for commercial and government health insurance plan relations, provide informational and policy assistance to advocacy and education staff and help TMA member physicians resolve payer-related administrative and reimbursement hassles.

Baird brings more than 30 years of health care administrative experience to TMA, most recently as office manager with Midtown Primary Care Clinic in Nashville. She is a certified professional coder and medical auditor, and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Academy of Professional Coders, National Alliance of Medical Auditing Specialists and others.

MP&F adds integrated marketing director

MP&F Public Relations has launched a new integrated marketing service line and has named Knight Stivender as its first director of integrated marketing.

Stivender, who most recently was with Alcott Marketing Science, has more than 20 years of experience in communications. Before joining Alcott, Stivender served as general manager of the Tennessean’s now-defunct 12th & Broad platform.

Stivender holds a degree from the University of Tennessee. She also is CEO and co-founder of Girls To The Moon, a Nashville-based social enterprise company that aims to help girls build curiosity and creativity and grow their confidence to become leaders.

Moyer named president of Pace Runners, Inc.

Chuck Moyer has joined logistics provider Pace Runners, Inc., as president. The company is headquartered in Birmingham, with operations in 12 states, including Tennessee.

Moyer is a supply chain veteran with 40 years of transportation experience, 33 of them in the same-day/customized logistics sector. He is also a member of the Customized Logistics and Delivery Association board of directors, currently serving as first vice president on the executive committee. He has been featured in numerous publications and is a frequent speaker, covering topics relating to transportation management, supply chain and factors that impact same-day and overnight transportation sectors.

Moyer previously served as CEO of Express Courier, Inc., Nashville, which was purchased by LSO in 2014.

Tennessee Bank & Trust hires senior vice president

Tennessee Bank & Trust has hired Hobbs Yarbrough as senior vice president of commercial banking.

Yarbrough has worked in the finance industry for more than 20 years and has broad experience in commercial banking, real estate finance, risk management, land acquisition and more.

He previously served as vice president of Regions Bank’s Wealth Management’s Institutional Services division.

Yarbrough holds a degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and is also a licensed insurance agent in the state of Tennessee.

In his new role with Tennessee Bank & Trust, Yarbrough will provide financial services and support to the bank’s existing client base and cultivate new business relationships.
