Live on the Green. A free outdoor music series held at Public Square Park in Nashville. The festival showcases the city’s emerging musical talent and highlights well-known national acts. Since its inception in 2009, more than 425,000 fans from 45 states and 13 countries have attended the event. Information: www.liveonthegreen.com. Schedule for August:

Pep Rally On The Square – Springfield

Event includes all five Robertson County High Schools. Countywide pep rally on the square to kick off the football season. The program includes introduction of the teams, cheerleaders and bands, as well as a spirit competition between teams from each school. Proceeds benefit the chamber’s MAD (Making a Difference) Awards for Teachers and Principals. 5-7 p.m. Fee: Free

AUGUST 12-13

Madison World War II Living History Event

The Remembrance Day will include living history encampment, displays, exhibits, vendors, a Stage Door Canteen, music from the 1940s, and various hands-on activities for all ages. It is a cultural, social, and historical reenactment to honor the men and women who served both on the home front and overseas during WWII. Friday evening will offer a family movie night, featuring the movie “Arsenic and Old Lace,” a WW ll news reel and a cartoon short. Opening Ceremony Saturday with veterans, local dignitaries, special guest speakers, and a wreath-laying. Saturday night a Stage Door Canteen dance featuring the Moonlighters Big Band. You are invited to come in 1940’s attire. Fee: Free, but donations of any size appreciated. Tomato Arts Festival

Tomato Art Fest returns for its 13th consecutive year on Friday (6-11 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m.-6 p.m.). Located in Historic East Nashville’s Five Points, this free, costume-encouraged event provides a wildly entertaining, fun-filled day for all types and all-ages. A community builder, Tomato Art Fest has steadily drawn larger crowds with each passing year. In 2015, an estimated 60,000 came to celebrate this beloved fruit / vegetable and enjoy the day’s memorable festivities.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 13

Bootlegger’s Bash

The Battle of Franklin Trust will host the sixth annual event at Carnton Plantation, 7 p.m. Guests will celebrate Williamson County’s unique history of bootlegging with a casual evening featuring local whiskey, a Southern supper and live entertainment. All proceeds will be donated to the preservation of Carnton Plantation and The Carter House. Tickets are required and must be purchased in advance at Eventbrite or www.boft.org. $50 per person or $90 per couple. Bootlegger’s Bash is for attendees 21 and older. Information: www.boft.org

Gallatin Chamber Membership Supper in the Park

Triple Creek Park Pavilion, Champion Drive, Gallatin. Cost: The cost for Chamber Members, Non-Members, and Guests will be $18 with reservations made by noon on the previous Friday; $25 with reservations made after the deadline. This events takes the place of the regular Monthly Membership Luncheon.

Chamber North Meet-up

Join North Nashville business and community leaders after work to mingle and talk about news relevant to the North Nashville region. Courtyard Concerts returns to downtown library

Courtyard Concerts, free and open to all, occur Tuesdays at 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. through Oct. 4. They take place in the Robinson Courtyard, located on the second floor of the Main Library, 615 Church St. Performances are informal, and seating is first-come, first-served.
