Free Symphony Concerts. The Nashville Symphony continues its series of free community concerts Thursday at 7:30 at Two Rivers Mansion. The series features eight performances across the Middle Tennessee region during the month of June. Featuring works by Brahms, Bernstein, Sibelius, Copland, Gershwin and more, the community concerts deliver classical favorites in a casual setting at local parks. All performances are free (except where noted) and will be conducted by Nashville Symphony Assistant Conductor Vinay Parameswaran. Attendees are invited to share their experience on social media and be entered to win a special prize from the Nashville Symphony and Griffin Technology. Fourth Annual Westhaven Porchfest

Westhaven’s 4th annual Porchfest, an art and music festival, is scheduled for 4-10 p.m. at the Westhaven community in West Franklin. Porchfest will include more than 100 performers from local and regional musical acts, playing on more than 26 porches in the Westhaven community throughout the event. The event is family friendly, open to the public and free of charge. Returning for a second year, a visual artist showcase has been included in the line-up to give concert-goers more options. Lantern Tour of Stones River National Cemetery

Stories taken from the letters and diaries of men who fought and died in the Civil War will be presented this summer at the Stones River National Battlefield.
