The Dinner Bell. Locally sourced food will be prepared by chef Martha Stamps on Friday for a meal under the stars to benefit the Bellevue Edible Learning Lab. Second Annual Run for the Homeless
The Key Alliance, in partnership with the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission, is holding its second annual Run for the Homeless. Start and finish will be set up at the Hall of Fame Park in Downtown Nashville.
Top winners will receive a round-trip ticket courtesy of Southwest Airlines (destination within continental U.S.). Team participation is encouraged and the largest teams will enter a drawing for a catered breakfast by The Cookery, a nonprofit catering organization offering culinary arts training for homeless men. Online registration is encouraged at thekeyalliance.org/5k. On-site registration will start at 6:30 a.m. the day of the race. Race starts at 8 a.m. Free parking is available at LP Field, Lot R.

Art: Up Close & Personal
Nashville artist Mildred (Millie) Jarrett will share her journey toward the development of her abstract painting during the free educational program of the Arts Council of Williamson County (ACWC), 6-7:30 p.m. at the Williamson County Public Library, 1314 Columbia Avenue in Franklin. Spring Leadership Breakfast
Dan Heath, author of Switch: How to Change Things When Change Is Hard,
and Made to Stick, which debuted at #1 on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists, will be the featured speaker at this Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce event. Heath is a senior fellow at Duke University’s Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship. With his brother, he also co-wrote the critically acclaimed book Made to Stick, which was named the Best Business Book of the Year, spent 24 months on the BusinessWeek bestseller list, and has been translated into 29 languages, the last of which was Slovak. The 63rd annual Franklin Rodeo
The Franklin Rodeo, a fund raiser for the Franklin Noon Rotary Club, takes place at 7 p.m. each night and is the largest pro rodeo in the state. More than 300 bull riders, barrel racers, bronc riders, ropers and wrestlers will pull into the Williamson County Ag Expo Center to compete for prize money and the coveted gold buckle. Bellevue Community Picnic
Fireworks will once again light the night sky over Red Caboose Park during the 35th Bellevue Community Picnic. The pyrotechnic display closes out the annual event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the park, Highway 70 South and Colice Jeanne Road in Bellevue. Featured performer will be Mandy Barnett, who as a teen-ager portrayed Patsy Cline in the stage play Always… Patsy Cline. Other features include the Red Caboose playground, childrens’ arts & crafts activities and goodies from an assortment of business. Free Neighborhood Shred Day
Local office records management company Richards & Richards has partnered with Civic Bank & Trust for the third annual Free Neighborhood Shred Day, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Civic Bank & Trust, 3325 West End Ave.. The event is open to individuals and small businesses, with no limit on the amount of documents to be securely destroyed. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips or binder clips.
