Full Moon Pickin’ Party on Friday features Middle Tennessee’s finest bluegrass musicians. They will be performing under the light of a full moon to raise money for Warner Parks to ensure preservation, protection, the funding of educational programs and special projects, including campouts and hayrides for inner-city children. 7-11 p.m., Steeplechase Barn at the Equestrian Center (2500 Old Hickory Blvd.) in Percy Warner Park. Franklin Rodeo
The event, celebrating its 62nd consecutive year, is the largest pro rodeo in the state and attracts nearly 400 cowboys and cowgirls for competition. Funds raised from the rodeo go to scholarships for Williamson County high school graduates. Money raised from the annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink night on May 21 go for breast cancer awareness and research at the Breast Health Center at the Williamson Medical Center. Creative Capital Workshop
The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville presents the Creative Capital Workshop for artists in the Nashville region at Belmont University. Partially subsidized by a grant from the Kresge Foundation, the workshop is an intensive two and one-half day retreat led by nationally renowned arts professionals that has been described as a “crash course in self-management, strategic planning, fundraising and promotion” for artists of all creative genres.
