Street Food Thursday. A gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Downtown Nashville’s Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North. This event takes place 11 a.m.-2 p.m. every other Thursday.

Goodlettsville Heritage Days

An opportunity to discover what life was like on the frontier at Mansker’s Fort and what life on the plantation would have been like at the Bowen Planation House. Skilled demonstrators and artists. SATURDAY, APRIL 9

VegFest

Nashville’s first VegFest, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Vanderbilt’s Commodore Ballroom, Student Life Center, 310 25th Avenue South. A free public event with a mission to provide information about the benefits of a plant-based diet for health and the benefit to animals. The event will include speakers, chef demos, vendors, entertainment, raffle prizes, children’s activities, non-profit organizations and more. Keynote speakers include Jess Rice, owner & chef at Avo, and Ellen Jaffe Jones, motivational speaker and author of Eat Vegan on $4 a Day. Information: http://nashvillevegfest.com

6th annual NAMI Davidson Walk, 5K, & Village

Funds the free support groups, education, awareness and stigma-busting programs of the National Alliance on Mental Illness for Davidson County. 7 a.m. check-in for the 5K. Village of Vendors and music begin at 7:30 a.m. A mobility friendly community walk starts at 10 a.m. The event ends at 11. Teams are welcome and volunteers are needed.
