Metro@50 Citywide Birthday Party
A citywide birthday party, noon-3 p.m., at the Metro Historic Courthouse Public Square. The party is the culmination of a nine-month celebration and education campaign commemorating Metro Government’s 50th anniversary. The event will include:
- Musical performances from historic and contemporary multi-genre artists, featuring Sam Bush, Del McCoury, Nashville Symphony Ensemble, Night Train All-Stars Featuring The Jimmy Church Band and Special Guests Presented by Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Barbershop Harmony Society Music City Chorus, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Tennessee State University marching band and more
- Exhibits on the history of Nashville during the past 50 years;
- Food from local restaurants and food trucks, as well as local beers;
- Exhibits from local shops, vendors and artisans;
- Kidsville – arts, crafts, and educational and fitness activities for children, featuring the Nashville Zoo and Nashville Children’s Theatre; and
- Dogville – activities for dogs and their owners.
5th Annual Native Plant Sale
The Native Plant Sale, hosted by the Garden Club of Nashville, benefits the Howe Garden at Cheekwood. The one-day-only sale inside Cheekwood’s Botanic Hall features more than 50 varieties of plants, including wild ginger, Virginia bluebells and celandine poppies, as well as an assortment of select native shrubs and flowering trees, which offer gorgeous springtime blooms and brilliant fall color. 10 a.m. on Saturday and lasts until all plants are sold! Gates open at 9:30 a.m. Cheekwood’s regular gate admission applies.

The Nashville Music Collectors’ Convention
The 80th of a series of the Nashville Music Collectors’ Conventions will be held at the Holiday Inn – Airport, 2200 Elm Hill Pike. The convention is a music show and sale and is open to the public from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thousands of recycled, out-of-print, and hard-to-find phonograph records, CD’s, DVD’s, tapes, and other music related items will be displayed and offered for sale by dealers from Tennessee and other states. The public is encouraged to bring records, CD’s or other related items they wish to sell to dealers. Admission is $3.00. Children under the age of 12 are free. For more information call 317-882-3378
