Southern Literary Festival
The author of the best-selling House of Prayer No. 2 and the Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Tina Howe will be among the special guests at this year’s Southern Literary Festival on the Lipscomb University campus. The Southern Literary Festival was established 75 years ago as a way to celebrate arts in the South and to allow undergraduate writers in the South to have access to the leading writers of our time. Cheekwood’s 4th Annual Native Plant Sale
Hosted by the Garden Club of Nashville, the Native Plant Sale offers a variety of wildflowers suited for local gardens. The sale, which benefits the Howe Garden at Cheekwood, will be held at the Botanic Hall and feature more than 50 varieties of plants, including wild ginger, Virginia bluebells and celandine poppies. There will also be an assortment of select native shrubs and flowering trees. Sale begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until all plants are sold! Williamson Community Band Concert
The Williamson County Community Band will kick off its 12th season with a 7:30 p.m. concert at the historic Franklin Theatre, 419 Main Street.
