Two Rivers Mansion Holiday Tours
The antebellum mansion will be decorated by local florists with all the Christmas trimmings and complimented by the antique furnishings. During the second and third weekends in December, visitors can explore the seven parlors, foyers and dining room just like the guests did in the 1800’s when its first owners, David and Willie McGavock, inhabited the house. Three generations of the family have lived there since then. After the death of Louise McGavock, the Davidson County Metro Government purchased the home in 1966. Tours take about an hour and will take place 4-8 p.m., 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and younger. A 1940’s Radio Christmas Carol
Set on Christmas Eve, 1943, WOV Radio in Newark, New Jersey; featuring beloved Christmas songs, the station performs a modern take on the classic Dickens tale amidst the comedic antics of the performers. This heartwarming story is filled with favorite holiday songs. It’s the long awaited sequel to ‘The 1940s Radio Hour’ from the writers and composers of Disney’s successful High School Musical Series. It is a nostalgic trip back to the days of live radio broadcasts featuring comedy and drama, peppered with holiday musical favorites plus new songs in the swing style. Dinner seating for the holiday meal begins at 5:45 pm with curtain at 7:00 pm Thursday- Saturdays. Seating is at 12:45 pm with curtain at 2:00 pm for Sunday matinees. 2015 Education Report Card for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools
Join the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and co-chairs Jewell Winn of Tennessee State University and Rob Elliott of Stansell Electric for this event. For more than two decades, the Nashville Area Chamber annually convenes a diverse committee of business and community volunteers to evaluate the progress of Nashville’s public school system. Each year, they examine academic performance data from the previous school year and prepare a written report presenting findings and recommendations for improvement. This is a free event. Tour & Concerts: Legendary Holiday at Historic RCA Studio B
Special holiday tour and concert by guitarist Meagan Taylor, great-niece of Chet Atkins, and pianist Jason Coleman, grandson of Floyd Cramer. In the very same studio where Country Music Hall of Fame members Atkins and Cramer popularized the “Nashville Sound” more than 50 years ago, Taylor and Coleman will perform Christmas classics as well as timeless songs originally recorded in the studio.
