This annual “Celebration of the Written Word” offers readers and writers from across Tennessee and the world to celebrate the joy of reading and lifelong learning with more than 100 authors. This year’s site is the Tennessee State Museum, the Tennessee State Library and Archive and the Tennessee Bicentennial Mall. Free. Schedule and information

46th annual Bell Buckle Art and Craft Show

7th President 7k

Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage and Fleet Feet Mt. Juliet will play host to the second annual event, which features a unique course set on the property that the nation’s seventh president once called home. The 7k will take runners across paved pathways and fields as they take in the rolling hills and beautiful landscape of The Hermitage property. 8 a.m. 16 and older $50, 15 and younger $25. Children 4 and younger run free. A 2-mile walking course is also available. 8 a.m.-noon. The first 300 registrants will be guaranteed a challenge coin and one grounds pass to Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, valid through Dec. 31. Information

Tennessee Beer, Wine and Shine Festival

The 13th annual event takes place at historic Two Rivers Mansion in Donelson, 3130 McGavock Pike. The event raises funds for nonprofit organizations the Hermitage and Donelson communities. Local artisans, food vendors and live entertainment in addition to tasting. Noon- 5 p.m. Tickets: $15-$95. Information

Once in a Blue Moon

The Land Trust for Tennessee’s largest fundraiser of the year supports its mission to conserve the unique character of Tennessee’s irreplaceable landscapes. The celebration takes place at The Land Trust’s Glen Leven Farm in Nashville and features a seated dinner and live music, followed by s’mores roasted over a huge bonfire, all in a comfortable ‘boots and jeans’ atmosphere. 4000 Franklin Pike, Nashville. 5:30-10 p.m. Tickets start at $150. Music City Animal Rescue’s An Evening with the Stars

Music City Animal Rescue is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with this event at Copperline Ranch, formerly a retreat of country music star Kenny Rogers. 6-9:30 p.m., 3145 Brandau Road in Nashville. Tickets $30 per person, $275 for a table of 8 and $345 for a table of 10. All proceeds benefit Music City Animal Rescue. Information

Actor Neill Hartley is Ichabod Crane in an interactive one-man interpretation of Washington Irving’s horror tale about the Headless Horseman set in the sleepy world of Tarrytown, New York. Cabin-by-the-spring at the Hermitage. $30 for Hermitage members, $35 non-members. Two shows: 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Doors to this event will open 30 minutes prior to showtime.
