Unleashed Dinner with your Dog

The 6th annual event benefiting Nashville Humane Association features cocktails, dinner, a live and silent auction. The highlight of the event is the pet fashion show, featuring the latest in canine couture modeled by NHA dogs of all shapes and sizes, each available for adoption. Funds raised by this annual event go directly to support the care of more than 3,700 dogs and cats that come through NHA’s doors each year - in need of a forever home. 6:30 p.m., 1808 Hutton Hotel 1808 West End Ave. Tickets $100-$175. Nashvillians have three more opportunities to attend talks with best-selling authors this winter as part of the Salon@615 series. The diverse lineup for early 2016 includes television news personalities Al Roker, Deborah Roberts and Hoda Kotb, and romance novelist Debbie Macomber. All Salon@615 events are free and open to the public.

Zoo Run Run

The annual 5K takes participants past favorite habitats, like Kangaroo Kickabout and Flamingo Lagoon, and along roads and trails not normally accessed by the public. Families and children are encouraged to bundle up and hit the trail. Strollers with all-terrain tires are recommended. Check-in begins at 1:30 p.m., and the race starts at 3 p.m. Refreshments and beer (age 21+ only) will be available after the race. Information: www.nashvillezoo.org/zoo-run-run.

Wedding Dresses Through The Decades

Enjoy traveling through time as you walk among MORE THAN 50 gowns that are being placed on loan and exhibited, most for the first time. The “Wedding Dresses Through the Decades” exhibit at Oaklands Mansion (900 North Maney Avenue, Murfreesboro) is presented Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Special Friday evening openings will take place Jan. 22, Feb. 5 & 19, and again Mar. 4, 4-8 p.m.
