Ensuring Compliance When Hiring Foreign Nationals. Join Baker Donelson shareholder Mabel Arroyo-Tirado for an in-depth discussion Thursday on employing foreign nationals and recent updates on employment eligibility and verification. Host Food for Fines

Nashville Public Library is hosting the Food for Fines drive at each of its branches. Each $1 in overdue fines will be waived for each canned good brought in. All donations will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank. The following cans/packages are being accepted: peanut butter (most needed), canned chicken or tuna, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned soups, cereal, pasta. The food drive does not include replacement fees for lost or damaged items, collection agency fees, card replacement fees and future overdue fines. Additionally, no drop-offs are allowed, no glass containers, no open packages and no repackaged or expired products will be accepted. Information: library.nashville.org.

Feng Shui Workshop

Symmetry hosts “Use Feng Shui to Prosper in 2012” with Tisha Morris. Watkins Community Education Registration

More than 40 classes and workshops for youth, teens and adults will be offered February through April, in drawing and painting, casting and molds, sculpture, ceramics, woodworking, color theory, film production, screenwriting, sound mixing, film editing, creative writing, crafting, sewing, hand-dyeing, graphic design, Photoshop, interior design, digital and nighttime photography, photo transfer, printmaking, book arts, social media and grant writing. The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce launches a new educational series developed with growing businesses in mind. This eight-session series is specifically designed to benefit second-stage businesses. Watkins Interior Design Exhibit

Watkins College of Art, Design & Film presents its 15th annual Interior Design Student Exhibit, a juried show featuring works by Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree candidates in the Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Gallery on campus. A reception and awards presentation will be held on Friday, January 20, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Currey Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Sunday, 2-4 p.m. Admission is free.
