Georgetown women's basketball coach Tasha Butts died Monday after a two-year battle with breast cancer, the school's athletic director said.

8. Vols, Lady Vols bonding through basketball, travel -

University of Tennessee basketball players have been making good use of their passports this summer, traveling across the world representing their school and their country.

The men’s and women’s hoops teams are both visiting Europe this summer, with both making stops in Italy. They are intertwining basketball with cultural immersion, team bonding and sightseeing experiences.

The fourth-seeded Vols lost to No. 9 FAU 62-55 at Madison Square Garden in New York and the fourth-seeded Lady Vols were eliminated by No. 1 Virginia Tech 73-64 the following night in Seattle.

KNOXVILLE (AP) — Tennessee is starting to look a lot more like the dominating Lady Vols of old, especially after a second straight rout to open the NCAA Tournament.

Reserves Sara Puckett and Jillian Hollingshead led five Lady Vols in double figures with 13 points apiece as fourth-seeded Tennessee dominated No. 12 seed Toledo 94-47 Monday night to advance to their second straight Sweet 16 in the Seattle 3 Regional.
