1. Predators trade forward Tomasino to Penguins for 2027 draft pick -

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired center Philip Tomasino from the Nashville Predators on Monday in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2027 draft.

The move gives the struggling Penguins another young player to work with as the franchise tries to emerge from its roughest start in two decades.

2. Prosecutors lay out new evidence in Trump election case, accuse him of having 'resorted to crimes' -

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump laid the groundwork to try to overturn the 2020 election even before he lost, knowingly pushed false claims of voter fraud and "resorted to crimes" in his failed bid to cling to power, according to a court filing unsealed Wednesday that offers new evidence from the landmark criminal case against the former president.

3. Colorado's MacKinnon wins Hart and Lindsay awards as the NHL's top player -

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon was the big winner at Thursday's NHL awards show, taking home the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's MVP and the Ted Lindsay Award as the league's most outstanding player as decided by the NHL Players Association.

MURFREESBORO (AP) — Middle Tennessee State University has an agreement to purchase the former Middle Tennessee Medical Center site near downtown.

According to a news release from the university, the school will pay $11.1 million for the 17.4-acre site. It includes a 115,000-square-foot building, parking for nearly 600 and a large green space that was the site of the old main hospital.
