3. Autoworkers from closed plants fight new GM contract -

DETROIT (AP) — If they can close our plant, they can close yours, too. That's the message from workers at three shuttered General Motors factories that didn't get new products under the tentative contract agreement reached last week between GM and the United Auto Workers, who have been on strike against the company across the U.S. for over six weeks now.

4. Union protesters arrested at Tennessee GM plant -

DETROIT (AP) — A United Auto Workers official says about seven to nine union picketers were arrested for blocking a roadway at a General Motors plant in Tennessee.

8. GM to make investments, add 800 jobs in Spring Hill -

SPRING HILL (AP) - General Motors announced Wednesday that it is spending $790 million to build a new high-efficiency engine at its plant in Spring Hill, creating nearly 800 jobs.

The investment is the latest boost for the Spring Hill Manufacturing Plant, where vehicle production was idled during the Great Recession. Since 2010 GM has poured $2 billion into the plant facility 30 miles south of Nashville that makes two four-cylinder engines and the Cadillac XT5 midsize SUV. The plant will also begin producing the GMC Acadia later this spring.

COLUMBIA, Tenn. (AP) — A union official says about 60 team leaders will be hired in about two weeks for the General Motors plant in Spring Hill.
