1. Rookie Levis throws 4 TDs in his NFL debut as Titans beat Falcons 28-23 -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The butterflies Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis felt over the past two weeks disappeared Sunday.

It showed as Levis threw four touchdown passes for a performance that matched what only two other quarterbacks did in their NFL debuts. Levis celebrated the last TD on his back with his arms in the air.

2. Big-name veteran WRs who made late stops here -

Here is a list of some of the main free agent/trade/waiver pickups the Titans have had at the wide receiver position and how those acquisitions panned out.

• Yancey Thigpen, signed at age 29 in 1998 from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coming off a year in Pittsburgh where he had 79 catches for 1,398 yards and seven touchdowns in 1997, Thigpen barely exceeded those numbers in three injury-plagued seasons in Tennessee with 91 catches for 1,430 yards and nine touchdowns.

3. Can Hopkins reverse the Titans’ free agent wide receiver curse? -

For all the ups and downs the Tennessee Titans have experienced in their 27 years in the Volunteer State, one thing has remained constant: utter futility in finding productive wide receivers in the free agent market.

4. Titans GM’s 2020 puts the ‘off’ in offseason -

By almost any measure, it was not a good week for the Tennessee Titans.

On the field, they were dismantled in the first half by Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns, who rolled up a 31-point intermission lead and coasted to a 41-35 victory.

5. Is Wilson another first-round mistake for Titans? -

The happy-happy, joy-joy of Jadeveon Clowney signing with the Tennessee Titans last week was rudely interrupted Saturday morning with the news that first-round pick Isaiah Wilson had been arrested on a DUI charge.

6. Succop's kick in OT gives Titans ugly 12-9 win over Browns -

CLEVELAND (AP) — When all else fails, the Tennessee Titans know they can turn to Ryan Succop.

On Sunday, Mr. Automatic came through again.

"That guy's money," Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota said.

7. Titans at Browns: What to watch -

Rishard Matthews vs. Jason McCourty. The long-time Titans cornerback landed in Cleveland after being a cap cut by the Titans this spring. Matthews has been one of the Titans most consistent receivers this season, and it will be interesting to see how he works against a guy who was his teammate last year and should know him well.

8. One gimpy WR no longer a big problem for Titans -

Tennessee Titans rookie receiver Corey Davis limped off the practice field last Thursday with a hamstring injury.

Normally, when the fifth overall pick in the draft goes down with an injury before he even has a chance to contribute, there would be cause for some panic. After all, wide receiver has long been a trouble spot for this franchise, which has rolled through the likes of Tyrone Calico, Kenny Britt, Justin Hunter and Dorial Green-Beckham over the years with very little to show.

9. Titans draft about more than physical skills -

It’s easy to look at the Tennessee Titans’ 2017 draft and conclude General Manager Jon Robinson drafted for need.

After all, he took two wide receivers, a tight end and a cornerback among his first four picks. And all of those players will have better-than-average opportunities to earn early playing time.

10. Robinson gives Mariota weapons for success -

Just when we think we’ve figured out Titans G.M. Jon Robinson, he reinvents himself. On the first night of the recent NFL draft, we assumed Robinson would play it safe, trading the No. 5 overall pick to acquire more draft capital.

11. Robinson’s success warrants any title he wants -

In the immediate aftermath of the Tennessee Titans’ turnaround season, Jon Robinson’s title was expanded to executive vice president and general manager.

Considering what Robinson has accomplished in less than 12 months on the job, I’d give him any title he wants. If he prefers “football czar,” so be it.

12. Top Middle Tennessee residential transactions for Nov. 2016 -

Top residential real estate sales, November 2016, for Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, Wilson and Sumner counties, as compiled by Chandler Reports.

13. Top Middle Tennessee residential transactions for October 2016 -

Top residential real estate sales, October 2016, for Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, Wilson and Sumner counties, as compiled by Chandler Reports.

14. Rookie receiver provides Sharpe focus on new GM’s strategy -

Get a good look at Dorial Green-Beckham.

He not only looks to be in much better shape, entering his second training camp with the Tennessee Titans at 228 pounds, but also because he might be the last wide receiver of his type drafted by the club for a while.

15. Sharpe helps underperforming ends get the point -

When the Titans broke the huddle for the first snap of the day during a recent mini-camp session, Tajae Sharpe lined up at wide receiver with the first-team offense.

That’s right: A fifth-round draft choice from UMass who has yet to play a snap in an NFL game was starting, while Justin Hunter and Dorial Green-Beckham, the franchise’s second-round picks in two of the last four drafts, were on the sideline watching.

16. Pass on Tunsil less about video, more about Conklin -

There have been players who have dropped before in the NFL Draft. But Laremy Tunsil’s free fall might be the first-ever to be born of social media.

Just in case you didn’t know, a video of Tunsil putting on a gas mask attached to a bong surfaced on the Ole Miss lineman’s Twitter account about 10 minutes before the draft began.

17. Other than Mariota, Titans must overhaul offense -

The Super Bowl is in the books, and so is the 2015 season.

So now, theoretically at least, all 32 NFL teams are back on equal footing for 2016, ready to make the necessary adjustments to become a contender for next season.

18. Fisher, other familiar faces return for preseason play -

The Tennessee Titans welcome back a familiar face Sunday night when Jeff Fisher rolls back into Nashville as coach of the St. Louis Rams.

It’s just preseason, so it’s little more than a glorified scrimmage with full-price admission.

19. Bills joins Wiseman Ashworth Law Group -

Attorney Anthony C. Bills has joined Wiseman Ashworth Law Group, PLC, as an associate.

Bills was previously an associate with the Nashville firm Manier & Herod. His professional experience includes all phases of litigation and practice including personal injury, products liability, nursing home litigation, health care law, mental health law, premises liability and fidelity and surety law.

20. Watkins welcomes Papel, Warfield as Trustees -

Watkins College of Art, Design & Film has added two members to its Board of Trustees, attorney Laurence M. (Larry) Papel and William (Bill) Warfield, president of Brookside Properties, Inc. Each will serve a three-year term.

21. Have Titans ever had a legitimate difference maker? -

In looking at where the Tennessee Titans franchise has gotten off the tracks, it is easy to point fingers at a variety of possible culprits.

There are those who have questioned the coaching of Mike Munchak and his staff, others would lay the blame at the feet of players who have underperformed and still others would point to the front office’s inability to provide stability in the draft and free agency.

22. Sensabaugh, teammates helping feed 250 families -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Titans cornerback Coty Sensabaugh and some of his teammates have worked with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to help feed more than 250 families.

23. Facing off against Fisher should have meaning -

This date – Nov. 3, 2013 - has been circled on the Tennessee Titans calendar for awhile.

Same thing for Jeff Fisher, Cortland Finnegan, Jared Cook and the rest of the St. Louis Rams.

This Sunday will be what could be an interesting little family reunion as the Titans travel to St. Louis to face Fisher, who guided the franchise on its odyssey from Houston to the stopover in Memphis and finally to Nashville.

24. Britt has 13 games to make or break his career -

Have the Titans turned the page on Kenny Britt? Maybe it should be asked this way: Has Kenny Britt turned the page on the Titans?

Britt said last week he was just letting out his frustration when he tweeted that he believed the 2013 season would be his last in Tennessee, that he was likely headed down the same path as Jared Cook.

25. Titans confident ‘bad vibe’ of last season has faded -

As the Tennessee Titans enter their home opener this week against the San Diego Chargers, they do so in bittersweet fashion.

When the schedule first came out back in April, most fans and prognosticators looked at the opening two games in Pittsburgh and Houston and said that if the Titans came out of that road double with a 1-1 record, that they should be pleased.

26. One long-shot wide receiver tutors another -

Meet Michael Preston. Unless you're a diehard Tennessee Titans fan, Preston's name might not jump out at you as you peruse the roster.

Preston hails from Division III Heidelberg, which not exactly THE Ohio State University when it comes to football. Heidelberg, in case you're wondering, is a liberal arts school in Tiffin, Ohio, with a total enrollment of 1,600 undergrads and graduate students.

27. Off-field Britt a bad investment -

Kenny, Kenny, Kenny. I can just picture Titans coach Mike Munchak shaking his head and mumbling that to himself over the latest alleged incident involving the Tennessee receiver.

Details are still coming out, and they were sketchy enough at the start that the incident went from Britt being stabbed to his brother being stabbed to a friend of Britt’s being stabbed during an early Sunday morning incident in New Jersey.

28. This Titan stretch run more about 2013 -

When the Tennessee Titans reported back to Baptist Sports Park on Monday, they probably couldn’t help but take a glance at the AFC standings.

And what they saw was a jumbled mess, one that might even give them some strange sense of optimism over the final six weeks of the regular season.

29. Blame bad drafts for Titans’ ills -

Everyone has an opinion as to why the Tennessee Titans have seemingly bottomed out midway through Mike Munchak’s second season as head coach.

There are those who blame the coaching, claiming the team looks unprepared to play as the lopsided losses mount.

30. Young Locker thrown into a bad situation -

When the Tennessee Titans made the decision a month ago to start the season with Jake Locker at quarterback, it was clear that there would be some bumps in the road. Two weeks in, no one could have anticipated this many potholes.

31. Both 9-7, NY is ‘super’ while Titans rebuilding -

Another football season is in the books with the New York Giants’ 21-17 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.

And with that ending begins another offseason of planning and building for the other 30 teams, Tennessee Titans included, trying to reach next year’s Super Bowl.

32. Hasselbeck’s leadership, skills make him Titans' MVP -

There is still one game left on the Titans schedule, but since we are at the end of 2011 it’s not too early to go ahead and hand out team superlatives for this season.

As the Titans head into the New Year with at least some gasp of playoff life remaining, Mike Munchak’s first season as a head coach has to be deemed a success. Yes, there have been disappointments – losses to Jacksonville and Indianapolis, as well as coughing up a 10-point lead at home against Cincinnati.

33. Reality check: Titans aren’t a playoff team -

It was right there for the taking.

All the Tennessee Titans had to do was win against the worst team in the league and they would have put themselves in position for a spot in the AFC playoffs.

34. Misdemeanor charges against Britt dropped -

NASHVILLE (AP) - Prosecutors in Nashville have dropped misdemeanor charges against Tennessee Titans' wide receiver Kenny Britt.

35. Titans halfway home, looking for leaders -

We’re halfway through coach Mike Munchak’s first season and still have no idea what to make of his Titans.

Are they the team that knocked off the Baltimore Ravens, perhaps the best team the AFC has to offer? Are they the team that was blown out in back-to-back weeks by Pittsburgh and Houston? Maybe they’re the team that gave away Sunday’s game against Cincinnati with a second-half collapse.

36. Hasselbeck gives Titan fans overdue glimpse of new NFL -

Is it really possible to have a career year at age 36? You wouldn’t think so, but Matt Hasselbeck is on pace to do just that.

Hasselbeck was signed by the Tennessee Titans, once the lockout ended, to mentor first-round pick Jake Locker and play until the rookie is ready for the starting job.
