1. No relief in sight for laboring Titans -

Perhaps the worst part about the Titans’ loss Sunday to the Los Angeles Chargers is this: We have just now crossed the halfway point of the NFL season.

The Titans are 2-7 with eight more games left to endure in what has become a rinse-and-repeat season thus far for Tennessee.

2. Westbrook-Ikhine is always lurking -

When Nick Westbrook-Ikhine first made the Tennessee Titans roster as an undrafted rookie back in 2020, he knew his primary role would be on special teams and specifically as a gunner on punts.

And while Westbrook-Ikhine has had the occasional big game as a receiver during his first four seasons with the Titans, the team’s plan each offseason was always to add talent at the position and maneuver Westbrook-Ikhine back down the depth chart.

3. The Titans are back from their bye and hoping rest helps against the battered Colts -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans are coming off the early bye nobody really wanted, with the NFL schedule offering a chance to start making up for their 0-3 start.

Indianapolis visits Sunday for the Titans' first AFC South game this season.

4. Who’s in at running back, Pollard or Spears? Depends on situation -

There is perhaps no better example of the changes afoot in examining the new-look Tennessee Titans offense than with the running back position.

The Titans have had their share of star running backs during Titans portion of the franchise history, including Eddie George, Chris Johnson and Derrick Henry. Throw in a LenDale White, Travis Henry and DeMarco Murray for shorter stints, and the list of backs to have been featured pieces of the Titans offense has been impressive.

5. Packers acquire QB Malik Willis from Titans for 2025 seventh-round draft pick, AP source says -

The Green Bay Packers have acquired quarterback Malik Willis from the Tennessee Titans for a 2025 seventh-round draft pick, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the deal hasn't been announced. ESPN first reported the trade.

6. Westbrook-Ikhine makes impression on new staff -

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is like that extra car that sits in the driveway.

There are newer, flashier and more powerful models available. But when needed because one of the other models is in the shop, NWI is ready to go – as reliable as ever.

7. Upgrades all around for Titans with new staff, big roster changes -

As the Titans open training camp this week, 2024 promises to be unlike nearly any season we have seen from this franchise – certainly in its time in Tennessee.

The offseason brought a plethora of changes and an entirely new approach to business as the Titans fired Mike Vrabel and brought in first-time head coach Brian Callahan to not only overhaul the way the franchise operates, but also its entire way of playing the game.

8. New names, new faces, new commitment -

Tennessee’s two highest-profile pro sports franchises have never been what one might call “big spenders.” But time, circumstance and opportunity have loosened the purse strings this year.

9. Breaking down the teams playing for national championship at the College World Series -

A look at the eight teams competing in the College World Series, which starts Friday at Charles Schwab Field. (Capsules in order of CWS opening games. Coaches' records through super regionals):

10. In with the new -

The 2024 draft is over, but the Tennessee Titans rebuild is still far from finished. Yes, the Titans nabbed a trio of potential immediate starters in this year’s draft in tackle JC Latham, nose tackle T’Vondre Sweat and inside linebacker Cedric Gray. But general manager Ran Carthon admits the Titans will be busy once again in free agency to fill needs at safety, edge rusher and depth at tight end.

11. Titans go into the NFL draft flexible at No. 7 with lots of needs to fill -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have been among the league's biggest spenders in free agency, and they still won't be able to fill all the remaining holes with only seven selections in this NFL draft.

12. New Titans coach Brian Callahan goes back to basics to start offseason program -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans are getting to know each other, taking full advantage of the NFL giving new coaches a week's head start to the offseason ahead of the rest of the league.

They started the voluntary portion of the first phase Monday, and first-time head coach Brian Callahan is taking nothing for granted.

13. Henry’s moving on to a better future; so are Titans -

Derrick Henry’s departure was inevitable. He said his goodbyes after leading the Titans past Jacksonville back in January when the regular season ended.

But when he signed Wednesday with the Baltimore Ravens, Titans fans surely hearkened back to the unpleasant memories of Steve McNair, Derrick Mason and Samari Rolle leaving Nashville to don the purple and black of one of Tennessee’s most bitter rivals.

14. Titans change game through free agency -

The Tennessee Titans’ long-anticipated signing of running back Tony Pollard on the first day of the so-called “legal tampering” period last week sent a clear signal.

Not only was Derrick Henry’s time as a Titan coming to an end – he agreed to a deal with Baltimore (you can hear Titans’ fans collective groan) a day later – but the Titans were truly moving in a different direction, as promised when Brian Callahan became head coach.

15. Henry heading to Ravens is another sign that running backs are valued – at the right price -

Backfields are going to look a whole lot different in the NFL next season after a run on free agent quarterbacks and running backs during the league's two-day legal tampering period.

After QBs ruled Day 1, running backs continued to make strides in free agency Tuesday with four-time Pro Bowler Derrick Henry agreeing to a two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, a person with knowledge of the contract told The Associated Press.

16. Ravens agree to 2-year deal with free agent RB Derrick Henry -

The Baltimore Ravens agreed to a two-year contract with free agent running back Derrick Henry on Tuesday, according to a person with knowledge of the deal.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the move can't become official until the new league year begins Wednesday. The deal is worth up to $20 million and includes $9 million guaranteed.

17. Titans replacing Henry with 4-time Pro Bowler Pollard -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans are replacing four-time Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry with Tony Pollard.

Tennessee general manager Ran Carthon started his rebuild Monday on the first day of the NFL's bargaining period. People familiar with the deals spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because free agents can't officially sign until Wednesday when the new league year begins.

18. Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley among veterans eager to see how the NFL values running backs -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Derrick Henry is back in the gym, eager to prove turning 30 is just a number that shouldn't affect the four-time Pro Bowl running back's value on the NFL's open market.

19. Top Davidson County residential real estate transactions February 2024 -

20. Titans emerge from the ’80s -

For the first time since before the franchise moved to Tennessee, the Titans are going in a completely different direction with a head coach replacement.

The hiring of Brian Callahan as their new coach marks the first time the franchise has gone away from a coach with NFL playing experience since Jerry Glanville guided the run-and-shoot Houston Oilers back in the late 1980s.

21. Henry, Tannehill get their storybook ending -

The storybook ending on the field, complete with running back Derrick Henry thanking fans for “the greatest eight years of my life,” was just the first sign that an era ended at Nissan Stadium Sunday.

22. Titans have the assets for rebuild with coach Mike Vrabel's future in question -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have the seventh overall draft pick in April along with the second-most cap space to fix a roster that led the NFL in players used for a third straight season winning only six of its past 24 games.

23. Henry turns in his best game of season in possible finale with Titans -

NASHVILLE (AP) — If Derrick Henry's career with the Tennessee Titans truly is over, the four-time Pro Bowl running back and two-time NFL rushing champ made his finale a day to remember.

24. Lawrence stopped short of goal line as Jags eliminated from playoff race in 28-20 loss to Titans -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Trevor Lawrence called his own number on fourth-and-goal at the 1, stretching the ball out with the right arm that had him questionable for a game the Jacksonville Jaguars had to win to reach the playoffs for a second straight season.

25. Pederson keeps playoff math simple for his Jaguars: Beat the Titans -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans have one thing in common going into their regular-season finale.

Nobody is looking past Sunday.

The Jaguars (9-7) can win back-to-back AFC South titles for the first time since 1998-99, and a fourth straight victory over their oldest division rival is the simplest playoff math. They kept Tennessee from winning the division for a third consecutive year in the season finale a year ago at Jacksonville.

26. Jaguars at Titans: What to watch -

The Titans will limp out of 2023 and into 2024 with a depleted roster, not sure if their new starting quarterback will be on the field and/or if it will be a swan song for Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry.

27. A failure years in the making -

The so-called “competitive rebuild” the Tennessee Titans were aiming for in 2023 completely missed the mark.

The collaboration between head coach Mike Vrabel and general manager Ran Carthon that owner Amy Adams Strunk mandated when she brought Carthon on board to replace the fired Jon Robinson had a few hits in the draft and free agency, but not nearly enough for the Titans to remain on the cusp of contention.

28. Rookie QBs Levis, Stroud to return when Texans host Titans -

HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans should get their rookie quarterbacks back when they meet Sunday after both players missed time with injuries.

Houston's C.J. Stroud, the second overall pick in the NFL draft, said Thursday that he'll start after sitting out the last two games recovering from a concussion he suffered on Dec. 10. Tennessee's Will Levis, taken in the second round, is expected to be back after missing last week's game with an ankle injury.

29. Levis itching to play, help Titans finish season with wins -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel knows rookie Will Levis will benefit from playing in the Titans' final two games this season if the quarterback's sprained left ankle allows.

Watching one game after starting eight games was tough enough. Levis made clear Wednesday he's anxious to play.

30. Titans' struggles have cost them in 7 one-score losses this season -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans had been the NFL 's best at winning games decided by three or fewer points through coach Mike Vrabel 's first five seasons.

That's taken a hit this season, no more so than over the month of December.

31. Tannehill, Henry will be remembered among best Titans at their positions -

It could have been a nice swan song – the Titans turning back the clock for a Christmas Eve win with Ryan Tannehill at the controls and Derrick Henry doing the heavy lifting.

Almost like 2019, 2020 or 2021. But not 2023 and likely not moving forward.

32. Seahawks at Titans: What to watch -

The Titans are eliminated before the final week of the regular season for the first time since Mike Vrabel became head coach six years ago. It will be interesting to see how he and his players handle playing out the string. With the 7-7 Seahawks coming in, the Titans can be in a Grinch role beginning Christmas Eve by denting Seattle’s playoff hopes.

33. Preseason 2024 should begin now for Titans after 2023 disappointment -

Now that the Titans have officially been eliminated from any playoff consideration, they need to treat the last three games of the season in much the same way they would play preseason games in August.

34. Texans win without Stroud, beating Titans 19-16 on Fairbairn's 54-yard field goal in OT -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Houston Texans gave themselves a confidence boost winning without injured quarterback C.J. Stroud and several other key players.

In the process, the Texans took a step toward possibly ending their playoff drought under first-year coach DeMeco Ryans.

35. It's wait and see on Levis' ankle as the Titans deal with their earliest elimination under Vrabel -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans are in wait-and-see mode about how Will Levis' left ankle feels after being bent backward during his seventh and final sack late in overtime against Houston.

36. Levis, Titans trying to start winning streak against the Texans -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans love rookie quarterback Will Levis' energy, enthusiasm and competitiveness.

Just not when he takes off running.

The 6-foot-4, 229-pound Levis crashed into Miami cornerback Jalen Ramsey after escaping a sack, making the 6-1 three-time All-Pro look like an economy car hit by an SUV. The Titans (5-8) have shown Levis videos of quarterbacks sliding in an effort to show how NFL rules can protect him.

37. Rookie QB Levis shows Titans have bright future with big comeback -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Will Levis has proven the rookie quarterback is a big reason the Tennessee Titans' future is bright.

He shook off a pick-6 in the first quarter and a bad toss that helped Miami take a 14-point lead with 4:34 remaining Monday night. He rallied the Titans to a 28-27 victory by being at his best when it mattered most.

38. Texans at Titans: What to watch -

The Titans haven’t had much success this season, but there is one game left on the schedule that many in the organization would like to win: Sunday’s home game with the Houston Texans.

How much does it mean? Well, the Titans will further stoke the rivalry with the team that resides in their former home Sunday by wearing the Houston Oilers uniforms for the second and final time this season. Of course, that’s a hot-button topic in Houston, where fans feel like they are entitled to the Oilers name and logos, despite the truth that they belong to the Adams family and the Titans franchise.

39. Levis rallies Titans for 2 late TDs, 28-27 win over Dolphins -

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Will Levis knew he couldn't get too caught up on his mistake. The Tennessee Titans' rookie made a bad pitch to running back Derrick Henry in the fourth quarter against the Miami Dolphins, resulting in a fumble that eventually allowed Miami to take a 14-point lead.

40. Titans' use of NFL's program promoting diversity shows results in GM, coaching jobs -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Coaching Derrick Henry almost seems too easy, so Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel switched Tony Dews to overseeing tight ends this season.

41. Henry respects NFL concussion protocol despite cost to him, the Titans -

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Derrick Henry rarely ever leaves the field for injury.

So when the two-time NFL rushing champ headed to the locker room on Sunday, that panicked the Tennessee Titans' fans who were flashing back to October 2021 when he broke his foot.

42. Titans at Dolphins: What to watch -

The Titans were as healthy as they had been all season going into Sunday’s loss to Indianapolis. That certainly changed, and now some of their key players on offense (Derrick Henry), defense (Jeffery Simmons) and special teams (Ryan Stonehouse) are all banged up as they get ready for a nearly impossible task of trying to slow down the Miami Dolphins. Miami is 8-0 against teams with losing records this season, and the Titans are winless on the road. Yikes.

43. Titans don't offer much to ‘rally around’ -

You have to learn to walk before you can run. Right now, the Tennessee Titans are crawling in circles.

The Titans found creative ways to lose in overtime to the Indianapolis Colts, 31-28. Blocked punts on two consecutive series and a missed extra point were enough to cost special teams coordinator Craig Aukerman his job. His firing was announced Monday.

44. Vrabel makes clear the struggling Titans will not coast to end of season -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel dispelled any thought that the Titans will coast to the finish of their struggling season Monday.

He fired special teams coordinator Craig Aukerman after an overtime loss to Indianapolis that thinned the Titans' anemic playoff hopes, a game lost in part due to a punt blocked and returned for a touchdown with their record-setting punter knocked out for the season on his next attempt.

45. Penalties, injuries cost the Titans in loss to AFC South rival Indianapolis -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans' ninth and final penalty could not have come at a worse moment.

Overtime.

Trying to protect a 28-25 lead with the clock winding down, Kyle Peko sacked Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew on Indianapolis' third play for an 8-yard loss. A penalty flag thrown at Titans cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting for illegal contact with a receiver wiped it out.

46. Titans hope playing back-to-back home games for 1st time this season helps vs the Colts -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have no margin for error or reason for overconfidence trying to start their first winning streak of the season with the calendar flipping to December.

"I don't think we should take anything for granted, just as a general rule," Titans coach Mike Vrabel said.

47. Titans finally at home for consecutive games looking for winning streak -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans hope snapping a three-game skid with a win helps get their mojo back.

Staying at home for four of their final six games likely is their best chance at climbing back to .500 after a 17-10 win over Carolina that cost first-year Panthers coach Frank Reich his job Monday.

48. Henry runs for 2 TDs as the Titans hold off Panthers, Bryce Young 17-10 -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have plenty to clean up with too many penalties and mistakes.

Fortunately, their rookie quarterback has a two-time NFL rushing champ in Derrick Henry.

49. Titans' revamped offensive line struggling with protection, injuries -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans revamped their offensive line during the offseason from one end to the other, and they might wind up being worse.

The Titans have allowed 35 sacks, better than only four other NFL teams. Tennessee was better than just five teams last season giving up 49 sacks. Despite all of new general manager Ran Carthon's changes, injuries have forced the Titans to start seven different combinations on the line through the first 10 games.

50. Titans hoping being home for stretch run helps salvage season -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The best thing the Tennessee Titans have going for them right now might be their schedule.

They finally get to stay home for five of the seven games remaining where the Titans have been a completely different team, even if it's still not enough to salvage this season.

51. Bring back Henry at lower cost -

What do the Titans do about Derrick Henry? Since Mike Vrabel took over as head coach in 2018, Henry has been the focal point of his offense, highlighted by a 2,000-yard rushing season in 2020.

That has changed, slightly, this season as the Titans have phased in rookie Tyjae Spears when they can. But the Titans have been so far behind in games lately against Tampa Bay and Jacksonville that it hasn’t even allowed Henry to get on the field consistently because the Titans have to have to think pass first.

52. Titans have massive rebuild ahead at nearly all positions -

Ran Carthon, you are officially on the clock. Yes, it’s understood that you were hired to work in better collaboration with Mike Vrabel than Jon Robinson did. But with a projected $100 million of cap space to work with and very few building blocks on the roster, a much-needed rebuild needs to begin ASAP.

53. Titans lose again on the road, prompting questions about Vrabel's job security -

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Mike Vrabel understands speculation about his job security.

The Tennessee Titans have lost 14 of their past 17 games, including nine in a row on the road.

And now, following a 34-14 drubbing by Jacksonville on Sunday, they've lost three straight against the AFC South rival Jaguars for the first time in nearly two decades.

54. Titans at Jaguars: What to watch -

The Titans are sinking out of sight in the AFC South and are still woeful on the road, having dropped nine consecutive games away from Nissan Stadium. That task doesn’t appear to get any easier this week in Jacksonville, where the Jaguars are smarting from being pounded at home last week by San Francisco.

55. Levis looks like a rookie, struggles against pass rush in Titans' loss to Buccaneers -

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Will Levis played like a rookie, struggling with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' pass rush and failing to lead the Tennessee offense into the end zone for the first time since being named the Titans' No. 1 quarterback.

56. Nothing against Tannehill but starting Levis is right call -

Will Levis is far from a finished product, but he showed enough in his first two starts that the Titans should be encouraged about him as the quarterback of the future – and the present.

There is no denying Ryan Tannehill’s accomplishments for this franchise, taking over four years ago in midseason and guiding the Titans to one step from the Super Bowl.

57. Teammates rally to Willis after fans voice their displeasure -

One unfortunate play set off a chain reaction that likely ruined Malik Willis’ day Sunday against the Falcons.

Willis was supposed to rotate series with Will Levis Sunday and perhaps get another chance to show his improvement as quarterback.

58. Tougher games ahead on Levis’ road to success -

There will likely be rough waters ahead for Will Levis as a rookie quarterback.

Few young quarterbacks escape the types of bad days that happen when NFL defensive coordinators throw complex schemes and disguises designed to make a rookie QB doubt his eyes.

59. Rookie QB Will Levis' performance gives Titans hope for quicker rebound -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Rookie quarterback Will Levis turned in an NFL debut for the ages and should start Thursday night when the Tennessee Titans visit the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Levis matched Pro Football Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton (1961) and Marcus Mariota, the Titans' own No. 2 overall pick in 2015, as the only quarterbacks ever to throw four touchdown passes in their first NFL starts in leading Tennessee to a 28-23 win over Atlanta.

60. Rookie Levis throws 4 TDs in his NFL debut as Titans beat Falcons 28-23 -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The butterflies Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis felt over the past two weeks disappeared Sunday.

It showed as Levis threw four touchdown passes for a performance that matched what only two other quarterbacks did in their NFL debuts. Levis celebrated the last TD on his back with his arms in the air.

61. Returning to Music City after 10 years with the Titans is weird for Falcons coach Smith -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Atlanta coach Arthur Smith acknowledges returning to coach against the Tennessee Titans after 10 years with the franchise will be weird.

He'll walk into the visitors' locker room Sunday instead of the familiar Titans side. With this an alumni weekend for former Houston Oilers and Titans, Smith will see even more familiar faces than usual. That group includes six coaches, a former Tennessee GM who's now Atlanta's senior personnel executive and five Falcons.

62. Henry among several star NFL players who could be on the move -

The best team in the NFC already added an All-Pro to the secondary.

More moves are coming around the NFL.

Teams looking to bolster their rosters for the second half have until Tuesday's trade deadline at 4 p.m. EDT.

63. Titans vs. Falcons: What to watch -

After a week off for the bye, the Titans are back in action and, truthfully, probably needed every day of that because in all likelihood they are going to be playing someone other than Ryan Tannehill at quarterback. Tannehill suffered an ankle injury against Baltimore and could easily miss multiple games.

64. Vrabel says trading All-Pro safety Kevin Byard tough business decision Titans had to make -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans wanted to compete this season, and coach Mike Vrabel said Tuesday winning remains their top focus.

Trading defensive captain and two-time All-Pro safety Kevin Byard may jolt the locker room enough to help turn around a 2-4 start. The deal also signals the Titans are rebuilding.

65. Vrabel promises his Titans won't quit despite being 2-4 at bye -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Even with all the offseason changes, the Tennessee Titans have reached their bye where they left off last season.

Losing.

The Titans (2-4) have lost two straight and 11 of 13 dating to last season. Veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill couldn't finish the last game, a 24-16 loss to Baltimore in London. He has a sprained right ankle similar to the injury that cost him two starts last season.

66. Titans’ bye week priorities -

The Titans, who enter their bye week a 2-4 record and major issues, appear to be fading fast even in the mediocre AFC South. Here are four issues that need to be addressed during their time off.

First down

Evaluate the quarterbacks. With Ryan Tannehill injured, the Titans need to take this opportunity to see what they have in their young quarterbacks – Malik Willis and Will Levis. That said, Willis has had several chances to show his ability, so it would seem to make sense to see what Levis can offer.

67. Tannehill remains Titans starting QB with bye week giving him time to heal -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans believe they got lucky with the timing of quarterback Ryan Tannehill spraining his right ankle in London occurring right before their bye week.

Tannehill left London on crutches after hurting the same right ankle that cost him a combined five games at the end of last season. Malik Willis was sacked on four of five pass attempts in the Titans' 24-16 loss to Baltimore.

68. Tannehill injured, Titans offense shut down by Ravens in loss in London -

LONDON (AP) — The Tennessee Titans are flying home from London with a two-game losing streak and questions at quarterback.

Ryan Tannehill left Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens with a right ankle injury — the same ankle he hurt last season.

69. Titans eager to score more TDs, quit settling for field goals -

NASHVILLE (AP) — For the past four seasons, the Tennessee Titans struggled to find a dependable kicker.

They've fixed that issue so far thanks to veteran Nick Folk.

70. Titans heading to London to play the Ravens at key point in season -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans find themselves at a critical point coming off their third straight road loss this season.

They're at home only once in a seven-week span, though technically they're the home team Sunday in London against the Baltimore Ravens. The Titans (2-3) haven't won away from Nashville since Nov. 17 at Green Bay.

71. Henry usually dominates the Colts. This week was different, and so was the result -

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Normally, when Tennessee running back Derrick Henry visits Indianapolis, he's a sure thing.

72. Colts defense still searching for a way to slow Henry with Titans coming to town -

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — When the Indianapolis Colts watch video of prior matchups against Derrick Henry, they see a whole lot of failure.

They've spent seven years trying to slow down the powerful 6-foot-3, 247-pound, two-time NFL rushing champ, and nothing seems to work.

73. Titans at Colts: What to watch -

The Titans will try to get their first road win of the season and, move into first place in the AFC South in the process, if they can defeat the Indianapolis Colts Sunday. Let’s look at the keys to victory.

74. Derrick Henry reminds Titans why he matters as offense posts best game of season -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have a lot of new players this season.

However, Derrick Henry remains the biggest constant for an offense that works best when he runs the ball.

75. Henry runs for TD, throws for score as Titans rout Burrow, Bengals 27-3 -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans now know what they're capable of when they're not making mistakes.

Ryan Tannehill threw for 240 yards and a touchdown and the Titans rebounded from the franchise's worst offensive performance in 49 years by routing the Cincinnati Bengals 27-3 Sunday.

76. Titans trying to fix mistakes, execute to help struggling offense -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans made a bunch of moves this offseason to boost one of the NFL's worst offenses.

They're still waiting for a payoff.

The Titans can't protect Ryan Tannehill, open holes for running back Derrick Henry or find the end zone. Their best hope for bolstering the offensive line may rest in how quickly top draft pick Peter Skoronski returns from an appendectomy Sept. 16 to his starting left guard job.

77. Bengals at Titans: What to watch -

The 1-2 Titans limp into a Sunday game against the 1-2 Bengals, who have underperformed early in the season as Joe Burrow is still bothered by a calf injury. Going into Week 4, the Titans are already in must-win mode if they want to stave off the dreaded “R” word: rebuild.

78. Titans total 94 yards of offense, their lowest in 49 years, in loss to Browns -

CLEVELAND (AP) — Gifted great field position when their defense forced a turnover, the Tennessee Titans moved the ball — backwards.

Incredibly, that was when they scored their only points in a 27-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

79. Four Downs: Titans at Browns -

The Titans finally have the monkey of an eight-game losing streak off their back. Now, can they string together two wins in a row and take down another AFC opponent in the Cleveland Browns? The Browns aren’t a laughingstock anymore and picking up a road win at the Dawg Pound won’t be an easy task.

81. Four Downs: Titans vs. Chargers -

The Titans home opener won’t be an easy one as Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers come to Nissan Stadium. Here are the Titans keys to victory.

First down

Get the passing game in sync. The Titans were terrible in the passing game. Ryan Tannehill was off the mark on more throws than just his three interceptions. The throws were imbalanced too much toward DeAndre Hopkins, with Treylon Burks and Chig Okonkwo barely involved. That needs to be more balanced.

82. Is Tannehill still the best answer at quarterback? -

The Titans chose in the offseason to try and make another go of it, adding a number of veteran free agents while riding Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry for one more go-around.

But with a poor showing in the opener, how long can the Titans afford to wait to see if that decision will pay dividends?

83. Questions abound before Chargers arrive -

This “new” offense that was supposed to be a big boost for the Tennessee Titans is already facing major issues.

Judging from last Sunday’s 16-15 loss in New Orleans, the 2023 Titans offense looks remarkably like the dismal one they trotted out in 2022.

84. Tannehill's tough day helps sink Titans in opening loss to the Saints -

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Tennessee Titans had the New Orleans Saints fooled with a flea flicker that looked flawlessly executed -- right up until Ryan Tannehill released his pass.

Tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo was free down the sideline, at least 10 yards behind any defensive back. But Tannehill overthrew him, turning a probable tying touchdown into nothing.

85. Four Downs: Titans vs. Saints -

The regular season is finally here, and the Titans open the 2023 campaign on the road at the Superdome in New Orleans against a revamped Saints team that they might be catching at the right time with Derek Carr in his first game at quarterback and Alvin Kamara out due to suspension. Let’s look at the keys for the Titans:

86. Youth, new names highlight initial Titans roster -

You’ve undoubtedly heard the old saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Evidently, judging from the roster moves made by the Tennessee Titans this off-season, things were broken.

88. Titans' Derrick Henry ready to remind everyone what running backs mean to NFL -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Derrick Henry, who has run for more yards than anyone else since the start of the 2016 NFL season, seems like a man on a mission.

89. Tennessee Titans see themselves competing to win AFC South, not rebuilding -

The Titans are targeting another AFC South title after just missing out last season under coach Mike Vrabel.

Injuries finally caught up with them in 2022 in the final minutes of a seventh straight loss. Ryan Tannehill stuck around all offseason to heal up from surgery. He is in a contract year and learned the offensive changes by new coordinator Tim Kelly.

90. McCaffrey claims the top spot in the AP's NFL running back rankings -

The value of running backs in the NFL has dropped precipitously in recent years as teams more and more rely on the passing game to succeed.

That philosophical change explains why a player like Christian McCaffrey, who is equally as adept at running patterns as he is at running the ball, was voted the top running back in the league by The Associated Press.

91. Tannehill playing for future with Titans -

In some ways, Ryan Tannehill spent a good part of the offseason twisting in the wind.

Sure, head coach Mike Vrabel said at the end of last season that Tannehill, if healthy, would be his starting quarterback for the Tennessee Titans.

92. Tennessee's joint practices canceled after injury to Patriots cornerback Bolden -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans will focus on themselves during the final week of training camp after the New England Patriots canceled their two joint practices following the injury to cornerback Isaiah Bolden.

93. Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill takes to the skies with his pilot's license -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee running back Derrick Henry is delighted that his Titans teammate Ryan Tannehill enjoys flying and earned his pilot's license this summer.

94. The Tennessee Titans are letting Willis and Levis compete to back up Tannehill at QB -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have a competition for the job backing up quarterback Ryan Tannehill at this point of the preseason.

The Titans on Saturday started Malik Willis, the 86th pick overall taken in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft by the last general manager. Then Will Levis, the 33rd selection overall out of Kentucky in April, came in as they alternated every couple of series in their 23-17 preseason opening loss to Chicago.

95. Titans' Williams hopes NFL follows Vrabel's lead with preseason head coaching chance -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Terrell Williams' stint as the Tennessee Titans' acting head coach is more than just for their preseason opener Saturday in Chicago.

97. Byard: Restructuring deal about ‘winning ballgames’ -

One of the key components that allowed the Titans to add a final major piece for this season was Kevin Byard’s change of heart about restructuring his pay for 2023.
