BROWNSVILLE (AP) — Ford Motor Co. officials on Tuesday pledged to be good neighbors to those in rural west Tennessee who live near the automaker's planned electric truck factory, a project expected to create thousands of jobs and change the face of the region.

Neuroscientist Lisa Monteggia, Ph.D., has been named the Barlow Family Director of the Vanderbilt Brain Institute at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

Monteggia was identified as the top candidate to lead the Vanderbilt Brain Institute following an extensive national search. She previously served as research assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical School beginning in 2000 before joining the faculty as assistant professor in 2002.

NASHVILLE (AP) - Lady Antebellum is postponing the start of its 60-date concert tour.

The Nashville-based country music trio says on its website it will now begin the 60-plus city tour Jan. 10 in Peoria, Ill. Lady A had been scheduled to start the tour Nov. 8 in Omaha, Neb., and more than a dozen shows will be rescheduled.

NEW YORK (AP) - Lady Antebellum's leading lady has given birth to a little lady.

Hillary Scott's representative says the country singer gave birth to Eisele Kaye Tyrrell on Monday in Nashville, Tenn. Scott is married to Nashville-based drummer Chris Tyrrell. Eisele is the couple's first child.

NEW YORK (AP) - Even though a cowboy hat sighting on Fifth Avenue is still pretty rare, country music has made an important move into New York City.

Country has its own radio station in the nation's largest market for the first time in 17 years. WNSH-FM, which calls itself "NASH 94.7," began broadcasting in January and its operators say it has established itself more quickly than expected during its first few months on the air.
