Homeless, formerly homeless earn $1M in 2010 hawking The Contributor
Ted Creasy finds joy, pride and rent by peddling newspapers at roadside on a raw and rainy winter’s afterfnoon.
The Contributor draws nothing but praise from the Metropolitan Nashville Homelessness Commission and its 501c3 fund-raising arm, The Key Alliance.
Freddy Bunton, 56, a carpenter by trade, like 70 percent of The Contributor’s salesmen, is homeless.
The Contributor is a 501c3 non-profit. All revenues go toward operating costs, according to Tasha French, the paper’s executive director. There is a small “rainy day” fund, she adds.
Pam Kidd and Keri Cannon make their living as successful affiliate brokers at Fridrich & Clark Realty. What they live for is feeding and caring for orphaned children and providing assistance to families in the impoverished South African country Zimbabwe.
